Over the last few days I was struck down with an ugly stomach bug and it saw me really needing to up my rest threshold and delve further into nothing else but that. In the process I stumbled across a podcast that I believe wasn’t so much a coincidence as a necessity and much needed reminder, about really owning our needs and softening into this at times challenging process.
I have to say that this podcast by Kristin Lohr is one of my new favs! She is amazing!! In this particular podcast she interviews Babara Erochina where Barbara raises the question of “where can we meet my own needs right now?” They chat all about really owning what you need, not just sometimes but moment-to-moment—This definitely set off some light bulb moments for me, along with some feelings of discomfort—I was already struggling to really relax into the whole do nothing else but rest thing and hence, this podcast came to me just at the right time:)
I wanted to share this podcast with you today because, I know as women we can often put our needs after the that of others, or work, or whatever else needs doing or attending to, regardless if that is really what we ourselves need at the time. This question really raises a lot of inner truth seeking, feeling into any niggles of discomfort and owning perhaps where we need to focus our energy more—where more growth and honesty within may need to take place.
I am certain you will find this podcast helpful, thought provoking and you'll be left with a sense of deeper investigation for your own self-care and self-acceptance.
I would love for you to share your thoughts about the podcast in the comments below. What were your light bulb moments? How do you feel about asking yourself this question on a daily basis? I'd love to know:)
