Feelings are meant to be felt…
Here is a little reminder for you and me, today...We all need a reminder from someone or something from time to time.
When we feel pain, jealousy, anger, frustration, sadness … Remember to go there.
When we try and ignore the ‘pain’ within our body we become that pain.
When we try and run from the ‘pain’ within our body we allow it to persist.
When we choose to stop and be still with our ‘pain’ only then are we acknowledging it.
When we allow our ‘pain’ to be felt, then and only then are we able to dis-identify from it—to see it for what it is, a feeling, an emotion that is transient and shall pass through us, if we chose to allow it.
Our pain is there to be felt, the more we push it away and mask its existence the more we are letting it rule us, define parts of ourselves and our life that isn’t even true or real. In the end, running will only bring more pain within—what we don’t acknowledge we giving it permission to us—perhaps out of fear of what may otherwise happen.
“If you are doing something to avoid pain, then pain is running your life.”
Michael A. Singer.
To feel the pain may look like sitting with it, feeling it, and just being with it. It main mean writing out what exactly you are feeling, or it could be talking to a trusted friend, lover, or professional about it. Whatever way you find is best for you, do that.
Know that you are never alone on this journey--life is full of ebbs and flows but you my sweet, will find that in the end all is okay, all is good and all will be fine.
Here's to feeling it all,
