The road to our goals, dreams and desires is very rarely linear and smooth. With the rockiness and the winding detours, it can often lead us to a place where uncertainty takes over, anxiety comes a’ knocking and all seems just too hard.
These moments, the ones between the here and there, may last a few days, weeks or even years. How do we navigate our way along our path without the need to know exactly, and without the pushing and forcing? I talk about this notion of forcing a lot—I speak about it because it’s real, I’ve most definitely done it and still do at times. When we feel the need to know exactly when and how things will happen, and if they will be exactly as planned, lends no room for something even better to come to fruition—the need to control the outcome takes us out of the now and over time reeks havoc to our mental and physical health. It’s in these moments we can choose—we can decide how we will live within the moments in between—life is for living, so, within these moments will you decide to keep on living or will you wish these precious moments away to get to ‘the’ place you truly desire?
The phrase “it’s about the journey not the destination” welcomes us to remember in the moments along our journey and call for our attention because it’s here life is happening for us—if we are always looking ahead we may very well miss the magic and lessons that we need to experience in order for us to reach our desires and to live a fulfilled and joy-filled life.
To support yourself during these moments in between, use tools like meditation, journaling, movement, pleasurable experiences—these are grounding and bring you back to a state of presence and ease, calming your internal system and taming the inner chatter of your mind.
Allow you to trust and believe that there is no rush to ‘get there.’ Know that you are exactly where you are meant to be and life is happening now, not then, but now!
P.S – For the month of February I am offering a complimentary 50-minute clarity session to help you navigate moments such as these, but also clarify your goals, understand your why and move towards them whilst staying present in the here and now of your life.
