Wow, has this been one hell of a journey! Products I have used have changed quite a lot, but I thought I would share with you what I am currently using and the two products that I have grown to love the most.
I talk a lot about coming into stillness, flexing our self-awareness muscle and to be honest this can be applied to our skin health, how it looks and feels. Just like the changing seasons in a year, our skin also goes through changes often related to climate, lifestyle changes, age, stress and hormonal variances. With that said, it goes to show how important it is to bring awareness to what is showing up for us on our skin and how it responds to your current lifestyle.
For me, my skin has been through lots of highs and lows, probably more lows than highs especially in the past but, with time, lowering my stress levels, getting my period back and more regular I have built my understanding and awareness of its cycles and have come to understand more deeply what works and what doesn’t work for it. Today, I wanted to share with you a few little things that I have found are working really well for my skin one of which is so much fun and just feels so lush!
Here are the products I’m currently using:
This is the most divine addition to my skincare routine; I cannot sing its praises enough! I aim to use it night and morning after applying my face serum and moisturizer however; I mostly am using it at night of late, as it seems to have become part of my nighttime routine. After my herbal tea I love cleaning my face, applying my topical products and then rolling with my beautiful Rose Quartz roller…. Oh and did I mention that if you place it in the fridge it helps to cool any inflamed areas on the face, which for me are usually my cheek area.
This oil has been a life saver. There are so many cleanser on the market, from gel to foaming, milk to oil based—oil based cleansers are definitely what my skin prefers. The fewer ingredients and the gentler the better for my reactive and rosacea type skin. The Totarol extract found in this cleanser helps to soothe my skin, along with the oils containing essential fatty acids, making it feel hydrated and definitely not tight and dry.
It has been sometime since I have used a serum but this addition has been a no-fuss step that I am so happy to have included into my regime. Serums are like a light-weight moisturizer that have active ingredients, penetrating deep into the skin. This is when I began to see a real change for the better in my skin. This particular serum has helped with my hormonal breakouts by taking the redness out of them and calming them down, reducing the size of the pimple too. I don’t always use this serum all over my face; I sometimes just use it on areas that are prone to breakouts and inflammation.
Just as its name implies, this moisturizer definitely does brings radiance to the skin. Thanks to the Dragon’s blood (sourced from a tree not an actual dragon) my flushing cheeks feel calmer, it’s like a sigh of relief for my face the minute I apply this cream—coupled with the magick of the Rose Quartz roller and my skin is in heaven.
Before these products I was using another amazing line called Dermaviduals, known for delivering outstanding results for those especially with Rosacea (me) and or acne. Here is the link to their home page https://www.dermaviduals.com.au, there is no particular reason for changing product other than an intrigue into trying Rococo after receiving a facial from this lovely lady https://belindahughes.com.au, a must try!
So there you have it, my current skincare routine—simple yet effective for my skin right now. I highly suggest if you feel called to try these products book yourself in for a consultation and facial first so you can not only reap the benefits of a relaxing and nurturing facial experience but you also get to see what feels good and what doesn’t for your skin. And as always, gaining support from someone in his or her genius helps us to learn more about ourselves, in this case your skin.
In skin health and love,
P.S – If you live in Melbourne I highly recommend visiting either of these skin clinics.
